Workshop Adjustment of the national veterinary legislation to enforce implementation of EU AHL and EU OCR provisions Sutomore, MN, 18 – 19 March 2025

According to the project work plan, ADEWB II project organised the 3rd Workshop on legislation – Adjustment of the national veterinary legislation to enforce implementation of EU AHL and EU OCR provisions, held 18-19 March 2025 in Sutomore, Montenegro.

The workshop was dedicated for technical staff of the veterinary competent authorities from beneficiary countries (BCs), members of the project Expert group on legislation.

The aim of the workshop was to support the beneficiary countries to strengthen their system by understanding relevant legal provisions in national veterinary legislation, crucial for enforcement and implementation of EU AHL and EU OCR provisions, transposed in the legislation of the beneficiary countries and to critically and objectively examine their veterinary legislation with the aim of amending it and adjusting it accordingly.

National Action plans for alignment of relevant EU AHL and OCR legislation by countries were updated. Updated national Action plans and national Reports on assessment of the current legal powers of the veterinary services may be downloaded here with the credentials.

The lecturers were project experts on legislation Dr Žaklin Acinger-Rogić and Dr Martina Rubin, supported by the ADEWB II Project team.

Information

The project “EU Regional action on animal disease eradication in the Western Balkans”, EuropeAid140314/DH/SER/Multi - SANTE/2018-G-046, is financially supported by the European Union (EU) to facilitate trade with the EU for the Western Balkan Countries by achieving the same animal disease status as EU Member States at accession and building capacity in the veterinary authorities of the beneficiary countries. The project started in January 2020 and will last until January 2022.
