ADEWB2-A1.2 Workshop – Certification and conditions for entry into the EU, Belgrade, RS, 19-20 March 2024.

According to the project work plan, ADEWB II project organised the 2nd Workshop on legislation – Implementation of EU rules related to animal health certification and conditions for entry into the EU of consignments of animals, germinal products and products of animal origin, held 19-20 March 2024 in Belgrade, Serbia.

The workshop was dedicated for technical staff of the veterinary competent authorities from beneficiary countries (BCs), members of the project Expert group on legislation. In total, 24 participants were present.

Workshop objective was to support the beneficiary countries to strengthen their system to fulfil EU requirements related to certification for movement and entry into EU of live animals, germinal products and products of animal origin. Regular revision and update of national Action plans, developed under ADEWB (I) project was done. Updated national Action plans may be downloaded here with the credentials.

The lecturers were Dr Žaklin Acinger-Rogić, Dr Martina Rubin, Dr Edvins Olsevskis and Dr Vidmantas Paulauskas, supported by the ADEWB II Project team.

ADEWB2 – A1.2 Online Workshop – EU Legislation on ASF, 17 October 2023

According to the Activity A1 project work plan, ADEWB II project organised online Workshop on EU legislation on ASF, held on 17 October 2023.

The workshop was dedicated for technical staff of the veterinary competent authorities from beneficiary countries (BCs), members of the project Expert group on legislation. Participants from other ongoing projects in the WB region with related activities were also invited as observers.

The aim of the workshop was to present the relevant EU legislation on ASF, share the experience of its implementation and to provide a platform to the BCs to obtain additional clarifications, if needed, as well as exchange experience and challenges in implementation of the ASF legislation during the recent outbreaks in infected countries.

The sessions were conducted by Dr Žaklin Acinger-Rogić and Dr Martina Rubin, Experts on legislation and supported by the ADEWB II Project team.

ADEWB2-A1.2 Workshop EU Animal Health Law – Transposition into national legislation Belgrade, RS, 10 – 11 May 2023

According to the project work plan, ADEWB II project organised the Workshop on EU Animal Health Law – Transposition into national legislation, held 11-12 May 2023 in Belgrade, Serbia.

The workshop was dedicated for technical staff of the veterinary competent authorities from beneficiary countries (BCs), members of the project Expert group on legislation.

Workshop objective was establishing of the project Expert group on legislation, Presentation of key points of EU legislation selected according to the priorities of BCs and Revison of national Action plans developed under ADEWB (I) project.

The sessions were conducted by Dr Žaklin Acinger-Rogić and Dr Martina Rubin, Experts on legislation and supported by the ADEWB II Project team.

EU provides financial assistance to Western Balkan (WB) countries to support their EU integration process, channelled through the instrumental for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA). This project will support the beneficiary countries to improve the capacities of the national systems and harmonize the EU legislation on national level. Results of this project shall ensure that the beneficiary countries become part of the EU internal market with as few barriers as possible in the near future. The project started in July 2022 and will last until July 2025.
