ADEWB2-A4.1 Workshop on preparation of national surveillance plan on ASF/ACF, Podgorica, MN, 4-5 September 2023
In response to the quickly evolving epidemiology situation relevant to the ASF outbreaks in the Westrn Balkan region, ADEWB II project organised the Workshop on preparation of national surveillance plans on ASF/CSF, held 4-5 September 2023 in Podgorica, Montenegro.
The workshop was dedicated for technical staff of the veterinary competent authorities who are responsible for ASF/CSF and preparation of the national surveillance plans.
According to the agenda, the first day morning session was dedicated to topics, questions and consultations related to control of ASF. Also, standard structure of an EU convergent surveillance programme was again presented with the basic information required or preparation of the surveillance programmes. Second day of the workshop, the national experts worked along with and with guidance of the ADEWB II SNKE on surveillance, Dr Edvins Olsevskis, to improve and amend the existing national surveillance plan for ASF and CSF. In addition to the ADEWB II Project expert, the sessions were also supported by the ASF/CSF expert from DG SANTE, Dr Žilvinas Ilevicius and the WOAH representative, Dr Jean Perchet.

At the meeting participated CVOs of the Western Balkan countries, representatives of EC-DG SANTE, WOAH representative, national experts and ADEWB II Project team;
The agenda of WB CVO Forum covered the topics related to Common activities; Priority Animal diseases; ASF/CSF Surveillance, New developments on EU legislation on ASF, Practical experience in dealing with initial outbreaks of ASF in the Baltics; HPAI Global and Regional Challenges.
