Lorenzo Grazioli – Project Director

Lorenzo Grazioli is an agronomist graduated at University of Florence in Tropical and Subtropical Agriculture. He is Senior Consultant and, since 2002, Head of Rural Development Department within Agriconsulting Europe SA. He is responsible for identifying, preparing and monitoring projects in the sector of agriculture and rural development. He is project director of several major technical assistance projects in agriculture, veterinary, food safety, animal health and agribusiness value chain support. Mr Grazioli has a renowned experience in the following fields: animal identification schemes and control of animal movements; capacity building of units management in food security programs; integrated border management; strengthening risk management capacity of farmers and agricultural SMEs; customs legislation and controls; building staff capacities of central and local public administration in the above areas.

Toni Kirandjiski – Team Leader and KE1

  • Veterinarian, MSc in Veterinary Epidemiology (VEERU, Reading University, UK)
  • Experience in:
    • Developing control programmes in animal health
    • Approximation to EU legislation (animal health, IR, AW)
    • Establishment of EU compliant Identification and Registration System
    • Contingency planning
    • Rabies control including ORV
  • More than 16 years of experience in the WB region
    • >10 years as senior officer in the Food and Veterinary Agency of Macedonia
    • 6 years as a technical assistance in EU funded projects in the region (Albania, Turkey, Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina)

Sanja Šeparović – Strategic Coordination Expert KE2

  • Veterinarian, PhD in Animal Health (VF, Zagreb University, HR);
  • Experience in:
    • Developing and implementing animal health control programmes
    • Senior Expert for Epidemiology, Control and Eradication of Animal Diseases
    • Head of subgroup Animal Health and active member of the Negotiating Team for the Accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union- Working Group for the Chapter 12 – Food Safety, Veterinary and Phytosanitary Policy
    • OIE Veterinary Legislation Support Programme (VLSP) Expert
  • More than 25 years of experience in the WB region
    • CVO of Croatia (2008 – 2012)
    • >17 years as senior officer in the Veterinary Directorate, MA Croatia
    • 9 years as a technical assistance in EU funded projects in the region (Albania, Kosovo *, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina)

The project “EU Regional action on animal disease eradication in the Western Balkans”, EuropeAid140314/DH/SER/Multi - SANTE/2018-G-046, is financially supported by the European Union (EU) to facilitate trade with the EU for the Western Balkan Countries by achieving the same animal disease status as EU Member States at accession and building capacity in the veterinary authorities of the beneficiary countries. The project started in January 2020 and will last until January 2022.
