The 8th Western Balkan Chief Veterinary Officers Forum for Communication and Cooperation (WB CVO Forum) and the 6th ADEWB II Project Steering Committee Meeting (SCM) took place on 16-17 June 2025 in Skopje, North Macedonia.
The first session of the meeting was dedicated to the 6th Steering Committee Meeting of the ADEWB II Project, where the Project Team presented the progress made during the November 2024 – April 2025 reporting period. The session included updates on legislative alignment, surveillance, emergency preparedness, communication campaigns, biosecurity, and laboratory networking. The meeting also marked the official confirmation of the no-cost extension of the Project until the end of 2025.
The second session continued with the 8th WB CVO Forum, which featured panel discussions on Animal By-Products (ABP) management, Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) preparedness, and the ongoing risk of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). These discussions addressed legislative gaps, surveillance needs, inter-agency coordination, and regional cooperation in disease control. Country experiences were shared, and practical recommendations were formulated.
